Pain d’épices moelleux à l’ancienne

Soft, old-fashioned gingerbread

A Christmas classic revisited with sweetness and nostalgia. It fills the house with winter scents and evokes childhood memories around the warm oven.

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups (250 g) flour

  • ⅓ cup (80 ml) honey

  • ½ cup (100 g) brown sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp ginger

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 100 ml of warm milk

Preparation :

  1. Gently heat the honey and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth.

  2. Off the heat, add the egg, spices and milk.

  3. Stir in the flour and baking soda, then mix until smooth.

  4. Pour into a buttered mold and bake at 170°C (340°F) for 40 to 45 minutes.

Floréal Touch:
Serve warm, topped with a light icing of icing sugar, accompanied by Christmas tea or homemade hot chocolate.
